Students share the reason why the Quantum & Dark Matter Road Trip matters

Students spoke to Channel 7 about why they enjoyed the visit from dark matter and quantum scientists as part of the annual National Quantum & Dark Matter Road Trip yesterday.

The road trip aims to ignite an interest in science, and physics in particular, in students living in regional and remote areas.

This aim was particularly important in 2025 as NAPLAN results revealed country students were slipping behind those in the city.

Initiatives like the road trip can show students that scientists (and all STEM professionals) come from different backgrounds, and that it is a career pathway that is available to them.
