SABRE South milestone as glovebox arrives in lab

The SABRE South #darkmatter experiment has reached an exciting milestone with the arrival of a special glovebox in the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory.

The glovebox will be used by scientists handling the ultra-pure crystals at the heart of the experiment.

These crystals are incredibly fragile and would start to degrade on contact with air.

The glovebox protects the crystals to ensure they can detect dark matter signals once they are placed inside the detector.
