Justin Leontini

A/Prof. Justin Leontini is an associate professor in Mechanical and Product Design Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology. He gained his Ph.D. from Monash University in the field of fluid-structure interaction and transition to turbulence and has been an Australian Postdoctoral Fellow.

His background is in fluid mechanics, and the simulation of large flow systems using high-performance computing. He has worked on problems including energy harvesting from small-scale flows, the impact of rogue waves on offshore structures, geophysical and planetary core instabilities, optimisation of ocean wave power machines, and the transport of gases in the human airway during medical ventilation.

With the centre, he is investigating convection and heat-transfer-driven flows, and how these flows can be effectively controlled.
