Mike Mews discusses crystals, dark matter and the value of fundamental science on 3RRR

University of Melbourne PhD student Mike Mews appeared on 3RRR’s Einstein a Go Go program to talk about our search for dark matter.

Mike explains why we need ultra-pure crystals to pick up dark matter signals, why we decided to locate our experiment 1km underground in Stawell, and why fundamental science is so valuable.

He also explains the timeline of when we can expect our data to inform us of whether we have detected dark matter.
