Paul Altin

Paul Altin completed his PhD in quantum atom optics at ANU in 2012, before taking up an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany.

He is now a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Gravitational Physics at ANU, and a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration which in 2016 made the first direct detection of gravitational waves from a binary black hole merger. He is also co-founder and Chief Scientist of Liquid Instruments, an ANU start-up company developing innovative test and measurement devices.
