Ciaran O’Hare

Ciaran is an ARC DECRA Fellow at The University of Sydney working on the particle physics and astrophysics of dark matter.

He studies novel ideas to detect dark matter interactions in the laboratory, in particular using haloscopes to search for wave-like dark matter candidates, and directional detectors as part of the CYGNUS project. He is also interested in improving our understanding of dark matter using surveys of the Milky Way galaxy. He held positions in the UK and Spain before moving to Sydney in 2019.
