Greg Lane

Professor Gregory Lane is an internationally recognised leader in nuclear structure physics, especially using the techniques of time-correlated gamma ray and electron spectroscopy for investigations of exotic nuclei.

More recently he has become involved in dark matter direct detection experiments with roles as Technical Coordinator for the SABRE South experiment and as the Australian member of the International Steering Committee for the CYGNUS directional dark matter detector concept.

Lane will lead the Research Theme for WIMP Direct Detection within the Centre, will participate in Accelerator Mass Spectroscopy/Inductively-Coupled-Plasma Mass Spectroscopy/Gamma-Ray within the Metrology program, and will perform research and development towards the Centre’s WISP program.

Lane will be actively involved in researcher mentoring and student supervision, and will bring his considerable experience in high school and community outreach to the Centre’s Outreach and Media Engagement Portfolio
