The candidate will be integrated in a collaboration composed of the Defence Technology and Science Group (DST), Swinburne University of Technology and the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics.

The School of Physics is the Central node of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Dark Matter Particle Physics which will host the Research Fellow.  The incumbent will be based in Melbourne, at times being required to travel to collaborating institutions and work under the supervision of the Chief Investigator. Specifically, extended research visiting at the University of Milan and INFN in Italy will be required.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • design-test of Digital and Analog Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) chips.

  • work on the development of ASIC characterization systems including FPGA firmware development and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) design

  • prepare research progress reports

  • undertake internationally competitive research leading to journal publications in electronics and instrumentation

  • assist and actively contribute, under the guidance of Senior Academics, to the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies.

  • deliver conference and workshop presentations of research findings.

About You
