Maurizio Toscano

Maurizio Toscano is a Senior Lecturer in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) at the University of Melbourne. He has a PhD in Pulsar Astrophysics and a background in Science Education practice and research. Maurizio's research, teaching, and artistic practice focuses on the intersection between Art, Science and Philosophy.  He has undertaken and supervised research into the role of aesthetics and the scientific imagination in Science Education; and has examined the place of Art in Science Communication, Climate Science and Education. He is co-leading a MGSE project exploring the center’s contribution to greater student/teacher understanding of, and engagement with, contemporary physics.
