Professor Andrew Stuchbery is widely regarded for innovation of experimental techniques to measure electromagnetic moments in radioactive nuclei.

This is of particular importance for the Centre’s Direct Detection program, where much of the background signal in observational data is of nuclear origin. As Node Manager for the ANU Node, he will ensure excellent liaison between the ANU and the Centre. Furthermore, already close links with ANSTO will be strengthened.

The ANU Node will contribute also to the Metrology component of the Centre’s work. He has a vision to enhance the communication between the WIMP and WISP detection research efforts, and to develop and facilitate Node contributions to the LHC searches as part of the Large Hadron Collidor program.
